ARTIST STATMENT

I am currently living in Whistler, Canada and I'm constantly being inspired by the beautiful British Columbia. My Grandmothers easel brings a smile to my face and has done since I can remember. The look of serenity on her face is something I now understand to be complete fulfillment from doing something she loved. As far as I can recollect, art has had a large impact on my life and the development of my personality. My practice is often inspired by someone I care about, and whom I believe deserves to be immortalized. Consequently, my work is often centered around personal motives. I like to study the idea of presence and absence of the human form and as such my work often represents intimacy and vulnerability. I work in a transdisciplinary practice and tend not to specify to any particular method. I like to manipulate reality and bring the viewer to a degree of emotional impact.
